About Us

Originally formed in the late 1920s, the MIT Flying Club (MITFC) was reborn in the Fall of 2005 to provide members the opportunity to meet and interact with others who are interested in aviation. Will be reborning for the second time with a new plane in Spring of 2025/TBD.

Executive Board

Grayson is a junior studying aerospace engineering at MIT. This is his second year as President of the MIT Flying Club. When not grinding through PSETs, he works as a flight instructor and charter pilot, flying the King Air and Piper Navajo. Grayson is also a member of AFROTC Detachment 365 based at MIT pursuing a career as a pilot in the Air Force. He hopes to continue expanding the impact of the flying club through scholarship programs, engaging events for the community, and advocacy for general aviation in the Boston area.

Francis is a graduate student in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences (Course 9) with a strong passion for aviation. He holds a private pilot license (PPL) and has accumulated approximately 140 flight hours in Piper Warriors, Archers, and Cessna 172 aircraft. He is greatly interested in aviation safety, accident prevention, and human factors. Currently, he is time-building as he works toward achieving his instrument, commercial, and CFI ratings. On his occasional free time, he enjoys airplane photography (plane spotting).

Omar is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and was a former enlisted Infantryman in the US Army. Besides having a true passion for developing effective therapies to treat mental health conditions, he is also currently working on earning a Sport Pilot certificate.

Cindy is a freshman planning on majoring in course 16 (aerospace engineering) at MIT. As a very decisive undecisive person, she gets bored easily and just wants some thrill in her life. She hopes to get a private pilot license one day. When not being held captive by work, she enjoys badminton, lion dancing, playing games, and dreams of traveling.
